Tell Congress: Support the National Park Recreation Act

In March 2018 S. 2509 and H.R. 3400, the National Park Recreation Act, were introduced by a group of bi-partisan U.S. Senators and U.S. Representatives. The proposed bill would use up to $18 billion in revenue derived from energy produced on federal lands and waters to establish a special fund within the Treasury specifically for restoration of the National Parks.

The National Park Restoration Act will address the $12 billion backlog of maintenance at our national parks. Restoring and modernizing campgrounds throughout the country is a major aspect of this bill. In addition, the National Park Restoration Act aims to provide more access to those who wish to enjoy our federal lands, by fixing damaged and providing new infrastructure throughout the national park system.

As visitation to the national parks grow, it is ever more important that those visitors have proper modern infrastructure and access. Please contact your Congress members and urge them to support S. 2509 or H.R. 3400.
